Mathew Cunningham has 25 years’ experience in the industry including 16 years at the corporate level with well-known construction firms. Mathew has worked as a skilled estimator, project manager, contract officer, purchasing manager, purchasing agent and service technician, along with years of experience with tax credit projects. His expertise extends from the office to the contractor field.
Luke Thoma
Project Manager
Luke Thoma has 40+ years’ experience in construction. For thirty years he managed his own business, working with East Akron Neighborhood Development Corporation, Neighborhood Development Services and Urban Neighborhood Development Services on residential construction and remodeling along with light industrial and commercial construction. He is also a licensed Ohio Plumber #38126.

GB Hawk Construction is under the ownership and leadership of Neighborhood Development Services, Inc. NDS is a private 501(c)(3) agency and an exemplary rated chartered NeighborWorks America Member. With over thirty years’ experience as a full service nonprofit developer, general contractor, property manager and service provider, NDS is a strong force in both residential and commercial real estate development. NDS’s programs include housing rehabilitation, downtown revitalization, economic development, project administration, financing and job creation.
NDS is the one of the largest non-profit developers in Northeast Ohio and is the single largest non-profit agency administering state and federal funding for several communities. NDS currently owns 25 affordable housing projects with 1,011 units throughout Ohio and West Virginia. NDS staff is responsible for all development, management and service activities, including planning, design, feasibility analysis, community support, acquisition and site control.
